A micro-miniature yacht to take one person across oceans and around the world!

The Project

1: To circumnavigate the world in the smallest yacht EVER! Just 10ft long (3mtrs) it has never been done before in a craft so small. This tiny yacht will be sailing into the record books!

2: To beat the current record set in 1987 by Serge Testa in his 11ft-10" boat - "Acrohc Austalis"

Will someone do it? Looking for anyone interested in building a Microyacht-10 and taking the challenge. Preferably someone in the UK? Preferably someone in Essex?

Alternatively some other Challenge. The north Atlantic route across the Atlantic?  Via Scotland, Faroes, Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland then mainland Canada. Onto the States? Florida? Bahamas? Or perhaps UK to Mar Menor?

This is the fifth and final model for testing.
Everything so far has exceeded all expectations!

Sponsorship . . .

Microyacht works! A few models with various options have been created and  tested over the past 3 years. The best of everything will be used in the full-size craft.

What next? Construction of a full-size Microyacht? 10 sheets of marine plywood and a gallon of West epoxy resin, that's all. OK, there's more to it but complete with mast and sails plus basic gear for coastal cruising would cost in total around £3,000 ($4,800) Equipped for taking on oceans maybe £5,000 with the additional special gear required.

I am an HF communications expert and currently in daily contact with Nick Dwyer from Kingston, Surrey who is currently sailing around the world in his 40ft home-made steel Roberts SPRAY!  Right now* he is 1,000 miles west of Galapagos Islands in the South Pacific. You will not be alone out there!

You are invited to offer your plan to get the project or your own challenge under way. Any thoughts, ideas and suggestions will be  most welcome. Please also have a look at the Around in Ten Challenge.
