Details of her construction will appear here.

But in the meantime, I am working on a very simple tiller-pilot (Auto pilot):

Based on the Parallax "Basic Stamp BS2" Microcontroller, all the components will cost little more than $150 and fit in one hand! A Hitec HS-805BB Giant Radio Control Model Servo is used to move a secondary slim rudder and keep the boat on course while you sleep.

The current heading from the Fluxgate compass is transfered into memory by pressing the store button. If the boat drifts off course, then the changed Fluxgate reading will be sent to the BS-2 which will produce an error signal. This will send an output to the servo motor to turn the rudder and put the boat back on course!

The circuit and construction is easy. The programming will be more difficult for me!
